If I wanted to send a package, about the size of a shoebox, 10 pounds or less from a US address to an international residential address in the UK, sweden, japan etc. How much would it be?

All the online quotes say it will cost like, $150. I don't care if the shipping is slow... Does anyone have experience with this?

I have went many packages (even bigger) than that through regular mail to Australia and it's never come close to that amount. I think the most was $30 or so and it was quite heavy and it was the slowest shipping.

Your question is very vague. If you look at the USPS site it gives you a listing, very specific about where and how much it weight. As an example it took me about 2 min. to look up usps and get the rate for a 10# package to London. It will run between $65 for 2 day and $35 to go in 7-10 days. All of the shippers have similar sites. I don't know what problems you had but something sounds strange. If you just call a local shipping store you might get a higher answer but price does depend on weight and/or size distance, and speed of delivery.pp

Go to USPS.COM (post office) or UPS.COM. They have places there you can enter the weight, size and destinations and figure the cost for international shipping.

$150 seems extremely high to ship something

I just ran the numbers on the USPS site for 10 pounds to Japan and it said:

Express Mail International: $63.25
Priority Mail International: $56.00
Priority Mail (Flat Rate Box): $37.00

Those were the post office prices, they give you a few dollars off if you print the postage online.
