I just consider that like a big cultural mistake...
The True Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance,freedom,respect...
There are rules, of course, but I know that actually Kuran never gave orders to wear hijab....Never...
So I just don't understand why so many people, in islamic countries, in Turkey, and even in Europe, think that a genuine Muslim must wear that !
IT'S SO WRONG...

I noticed that more and more women wear it, even in France...And that makes me sick...
According to me, this attitude is almost an insult, a lack of respect...
In Paris, sometimes I can see in the streets turkish women...And when you see 5 women wearing hidjab, it's something really awfull..
It's like sectarism
Many people use to think that a true Muslim should wear hijab...In my family, no woman wears it, and they are free...And I believe that many women in most these "muslim" families actually wear the hidjab ONLY BECAUSE THE OTHERS WEAR IT...Such a non-sense...
Only political purposes...What a shame !!

When I said this to the boy of about seven or eight years who delivered my lunch today, I said to him, "You should carry change with you (he couldn't break my 10-YTL note) and you should be in school." The poor soul looked hurt. I know that the family that owns the place can't be hurting for money--the restaurant is in a high-rent area in a major Istanbul financial district that gets a lot of turnover during the lunch hour.
