Actually I just need to make a point here. I am so fuming. I asked a question here before about giving birth in Greek hospitals and I got one or two questions that made me so angry. Basically they were telling me to go back home were so unbelieveably rude.
I asked about drugs and delivery in Greek hospitals, what the policies were. If by practice they gave drugs if there were no complications, if for example that they preferred to deliver without drugs or something.
To set the record straight I love my new country. I think the hospital system is the best I have ever experienced. Better than England, and better than my home country of Australia. My doctor is an absolute gentleman and I feel so safe and comfortable with him. I dont think Greece is a third world country and I never did. I love my new home in every aspect and respect its culture. AND I speak Greek and have Greek friends if you want to yell at me for that too.
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

I plan on using a debit card in London, Paris, and Rome to withdraw money. How will this work?

Will I have to enter the amount in pounds or euros I'd like to withdraw? Or will I be able to enter the desired dollar amount and have the machine convert it to pounds or euros for me?

I am looking for position overseas. I received, what looks like a great contract from this school - it seems real, www.kingstonmae.com is the site - but there are misspellings in their emails and when I googled it, I found this --http://the-world-in-focus.com/blog/?p=7823 - under scams. The school seems real, but it came up under that scam. Has anyone heard of this school in Athens. I found the job posting for this on many Teaching English Overseas site. I would like to know of experiences of suggestions? Thanks...

I am planning to travel to Germany (I am from Greece) and I have heard that you don't need a passport to do that since both countries belong to the Schengen zone, but the new type of ID cards. I got my ID card in 2000 and my surname, my name and my father's name are written in both the greek and the latin alphabet. The rest data is written with Greek characters. Is this ID card valid for travelling to Germany and other countries of the Schengen zone? Thanks!

My friend and I have been thinking about doing a bit of backpacking in London. Not coming from a big city, we we're wondering about what to see and do on a tight budget in London.
Also, about hostels, has anyone ever heard of Globetrotters Inn near Ravencourt Gardens?
We've been to Europe before (France) and aren't worried about transportation. We'll be there roughly a week.

Antyhing helps,

Thanks!

We stayed in apartment 641. My wife said from the outset there was a sour, almost sewerage smell there. We ate and drank the same things. She took ill the second week and is still very ill, violently sick etc. Hasn't eaten a meal for a week, surviving on sports drinks and bed rest. Awaiting blood tests etc. Anyone else with a similar experience at CPO?

Backpacking europe soon. It's my first time. But I am not decided where to go. I have two plans. Gotta pick one.
Plan A (classical) : London, Paris, Rome, Berlin...
Plan B (off the beaten path): Salzburg, Krakow, Sarajevo, Copenhaguen...
I asked some opinion,s but they were more confusing than helpful.
Those I tell them I'm going to Paris, Berlin, Rome ask me why I am so classical and why I didn't choose smthg more original?
Those I tell them I'm going to Krakow, Sarajevo... ask me what the hell I am going to do here?

Should I choose "Classical" or "off the beaten path"?

I am under 30 and want to spend some years of my life in another European state. I tried it some years ago, moving to Frankfurt, but I realized that sunshine is necessary to me. I also want it to be inside EU, in order to avoid the whole bureaucracy. I'm not fond of a specific culture, I prefer 'international' places, even if they are crowded..

Some friends and I were talking about this, and we weren't really sure if Euro Trip, the movie, was a reliable source. How much nudity is allowed to shown on European television? Is it stricter in some countries more than others? I just want to know so I don't make any false conclusions.
