I recommend Lisbon. A great mix of old and new. There are some great day trips to the city of Sintra where you will find an old Moorish Fort, or out to some of the great beaches on the Atlantic ocean. Be sure to catch some of the traditional Portuguese singing, Fado, while going out to eat in the city. Lisbon Poets Hostel is a good place to stay while in Lisbon.

Have fun.

Lisbon & Porto are huge places to go.
But Madeira is also a pretty touristy place..
Any city with Praia in it is probably a good place to go for some coastal action :P (Praia means beach). Praia de Mira is a nice beachy place to go :P

But if you want touristy places, where there are tours and it's more city then go to Lisbon.
