I'm interested in comparing the cost of living between California and British Columbia.. I'm contemplating a move from the States up to the Great White North, and want to see how much more or less things are going to cost. I know it's going to be difficult due to the difference in currencies, but something is better than nothing. Thanks!

I want to bring both beer and liquor into Canada from Australia, and am trying to figure out the rules for it....has anyone brought in a combination of both. I know it can be either 1.14L of Spirits OR 8.5L of Beer...so if I brought in a 700ml bottle of spirits (representing 61.4% of the full amount) could I then bring in 3.2L of beer (38.6% of the beer amount). So in other words a 700ml spirit and a 6 pack?

..Just wondering, because I'm from the States and I've been all around Canada and the best place was BY FAR Newfoundland. Yet, it seems that all other Canadians s*** on Newfoundland on a almost daily basis and many have never even been there. In my opinion Newfoundland is the best part of Canada (one of the top five places in North America in my opinion)...I guess my question is, why don't Canadians take care and have pride in such a special place?

My friends and I are planning a trip to Montreal and I was wondering where are the more interesting places for 3 college students to go? We will be there for a week and we are going in the middle of March. So if there is anything special going on, do tell. Thanks!

With everyone (especially skilled workers) moving to Alberta, it seems Newfoundland is being left with students exploiting low tuition (then leaving) and older people. Will this trend ever change?

I'm looking for a good efficient (hopefully cheap) way to get to see the Edmonton Oilers play the Calgary Flames in the Pengrowth Saddledome. Any tips, or ideas on tour companies that do this? I know there's one that comes from Calgary to Edmonton every once and a while, but I don't the name of if. Any help?

I'm going to Montreal in March (first time visitor), and I am wondering which parts of Montreal are considered dangerous, in terms of crime? Which parts or neighbourhoods of Montreal are best left avoided? Do you have any safety tips for Montreal? How safe is the metro/subway system in Montreal?

Thanks in advance!
