It depends what your'e into...

The east coast (Maritime provinces) are picturesque & quaint, and full of history and very friendly people. The south shore of Nova Scotia has lots of great little historic towns. The bay of Funday has the highest tides in the world and some great whale watching. The Cabot Trail (Road) on Cape Breton is stunningly beautiful. (I think it's a world Heritage Site.) Great beaches all around Nova Scotia. try some local lobster while you're there. Halifax is a vibrant city full of history, beautiful architecture, great restaurants, museums, a cool arts scene, and fabulous people. The weather is best in July/August.

The West Coast (British Columbia) is more rugged. Big trees and mountains and lots of wildlife. This is a newer part of Canada so the history is mostly native history (natives having been here long long before European settlers.) The scenery is breathtaking. The beaches are more rugged than in NS. Try some local BC salmon while you're there. Lots of great hiking opportunities. Whale watching. You can take your RV on the BC ferry and the Alaska Marine Ferry. You can get off at a variety of very beautiful locations.

I'm English and toured Canada extensively. Depends what you are looking for... big lakes and forrests, with interesting cities like Toronto, Quebec, Montreal etc... go to the East - plus you get to see Nigeria Falls. If you love mountains and wildlife, cowboy shows in Calgary, the biggest mall in Edmonton and smart Vancouver, head to the West. Either way, Canada is stunning, so it doesn't matter much which part you see because you'll be back again!

I agree with s2pified. I would add that since the east coast is a lot closer to Britain, you might choose it for your first trip. There is lots and lots to see, and you can at least touch 3 atlantic provinces in a couple of weeks. Try the provincial government websites for lots of information.

Why don't you come to the east coast of canada, and you could stay in Fundy National Park? There are wonderful hiking trails and if you visit in the Summer, there's lots of fun!
