My boyfriend and I are talking about moving to Australia to get married and start life over together. We are both in our thirties, divorced, and two almost grown kids each. One child will possibly go with us, there are no custody problems or anything if she does. What are the documentations we will need to first travel there? He was going to go first, get a job and place to stay, and then send for me. We are having a very hard time making it financially in the US. We also have many 'problems' from our lives before each other, and are wanting a 'new start'. We have neither one been in any trouble with the athorities. What will it take to move there and live? Is this a bad idea?

ok guys...I live in Queensland (sunshine coast to be exact) and I am planning to move to Melbourne for University in a few years to try to get into either

Journalisim or tourisim as well as umpiring AFL (gunna try to get to the top!!)

I may have plans for somewhere to board but I will be looking for somewhere for my self....alone.

So where would be a safe, affordible place in Melbourne to rent and if possible, cole to the city (so I can watch the footy and get to Uni fast)

Hi,
I got a job-offer as an engineer near melbourne. My salary will be about 40000A$. Is this enough for an one person household with all costs of living? I am from Germany and if I work here, i will earn 1,5times more than in Australia. That's the reason for this question.

My partner is a joiner and we are currently attempting to obtain a skilled trade visa to emigrate to Melbourne (where we lived for a while on a working holiday visa). The main worry is actually getting work once we arrive there. Is there any way anyone can advise to make contacts/try to secure work as a joiner before actually arriving in Australia? We have been told there is (obviously) a shortage of joiners in Melbourne area (especially Geelong/Torquay region) but we would just have to go there and then get a job since we will have to prove we have the visa and that my partner is ellgible to work as a joiner.

Help please please please - on any aspect of migration as well. We are using GoMatilda to help us.

I am planning to move to Melbourne in 2 years and everything about it sounds "perfect". No one said anything bad about it so far. Are there NO problems in Melbourne ? there should be . Let me know if you know :
what kind of problems people complain about
and kind of problems immigrants have
Thank You.

I would also appreciate if you would like to discuss some staff with me about the topic via msn: koraydervis@yahoo.com
