I worked in Australia for 2 months(2 years prior) and applied for my Tax Number, it was successful but I never actually got it because I went back home to South Africa, now im immigrating to Australia and would like to know how I would get my Tax File number.

My husband and I are going to be attending teacher's college in Ballarat, hopefully, and I need to know how much money we should expect to pay per month for rent, groceries, bills (electric, water) etc. How much should a student expect to need? We are not frivolous nor do we go out drinking often so that's not a consideration. Thanks for any help you can offer if you live in the area! Also, any information about Ballarat would be appreciated as well!

I am working on booking a vacation this summer (July/August) and I know nothing about Melbourne. I found the Explorer's Hotel on Spencer Street in Melbourne and it seems to be nicely priced and supposedly in a good area for travellers. Does anyone have any info? Price and location are very important. The purpose of the trip is to see Phantom at the Princess Theatre. I also plan to do some sightseeing.

I would like some suggestions on stops, where to stay, what to see between Melbourne and Port Campbell. I plan to leave Melbourne around 11am on day 1 (a Wednesday) and return to Melbourne airport on day 2 to catch a 1pm flight to Sydney. Overnight somewhere between the Melbourne and Port Campbell. I really want to see the 12 Apostles and take some nice picture at dusk.

as you may have noticed from my previous question I am looking to do a student placement in Melbourne working for Coles Myer but Im having trouble finding any information about Student Visas on the coles myer web site

if you can help it would be much appreciated
