I'm mainly interested in understanding their use of technology, transportation, etc. I think I should go to Tokyo for a week but are there any other places I should not miss (for a day or two)?

I've been getting mixed results from my friends. But seeing as they have never done it, I would like to hear some more opinions. I've been working in finance for about 2 years. And I recently am planning to teach abroad in Japan for 1 year. Now I am worried that I won't be able to get a job when I return. So I'm thinking wether or not to go forth in my career and not teach abroad or go abroad. I just don't want that "What if" scenario happen in my life. I guess it's now or never. Hmm, what should I do? I'm 25 years of age, which I think is still a good young age. Thanks in advance!

We are considering going to Japan on holiday with the family. There would be 2 adults 2 children (6 and 9 years old). we would probably go fro 14 days and visit Tokyo and Kyoto. We would want to do a few children based things as well as gardens, shrines etc. We would not have a problem finding places to go and that would be a question further down the road. My question is whether it is "children friendly" in hotels and restuarants? Whether the trains/metro is practical for families with young children? I think you know where I am coming from.... Thanks

I have not yet been to Japan, but I always hear about how expensive it is. Since Japan is a set of islands whose major cities are ports, would a cruise of Japan be a cheaper alternative to land based hotels? (I realize this may sacrifice some of the exposure to Japanese culture.)

This might sound like a silly question, and my guess is that it is in fact fine to visit the city. But I have read that there is still some lingering radiation in the area. In which case, is it enough to affect visitors in any significant way? Of course, the people who lived through the atomic bomb still live with the effects of radiation... but this is because of their initial exposure to it and exposure close to the period and hypocentre following the explosion right? And not necessarily due to the radiation, if any, that still lingers in the area?

Merci d'avance for your answers.
