My sister live sin japan and she loves year round. If you are trying to avoid nasty weather, spring/summer would be best. If you are looking to participate in specific activities- it denpends on what they are...scuba diving is beautiful over there and best done when the water is warmer- summer. The cherry blossoms are soemthing to see. for that, it depends on which part of Japan you are going to. I would check online. You can google the phrase, "best time of year in Japan" and come up with tons of information. Oh- spring and fall are the mildest seasons if you wnat to avoid heat and humidity.

In my opinion there are two times that are brilliant tio visit Japan!
One ie durin March-April time when spring is arriving after cold winter. You will have a chance to see "sakura", cherry blossoms which are abosilutely gorgeous!. These are beautiful pink blossoms which only come out 4 around a week or so a year. So are very special. The Japanese like to celebrate this, by drinking sake, having parties, picnic outside and admiring the sakura.

The other time is Autumn, Sept-October-Nov time. The Autumn leaves are equally beuatiful. especailly against the backdrop of a blue clear sky! Great!! The air is clear and crisp too! And generally it is jus a lovely time of year to b in Japan.

These two times are both great for visiting Japan. They also have special food they eat at these times too. Sakuramochi which is pounded rice flavoured with sakura leaves.

Have fun:)

Definately during the Cherry Blossom Festival for the area of Japan you want to visit..

They bloom earlier in the south compared to the north.

I went in October. It is warm enough with very sunny days. Whatever time of year you go, there are torrential rain storms, at least one a day. Thats why they all have umbrellas all the time.
