I am going to be an english teacher in japan and was wondering if AEON is a good company to go with. I also wanted to know if they pay well enough to save some cash or if I would be living check to check.

I am in Tokyo to videotape a project. A lot of the scenes would involve filming in public, with innocent passer-byes likely ending up in a lot of the shots. I've been trying to research filming laws in Japan, but so far have turned up nothing, besides that the director of Babel filmed in Tokyo without a permit, and the cops chased him away from some locations. My project is a lot smaller, involving about four or five people all together. What are the laws about filming like this?

I have been checking out customs web pages for Japan and have seen the customs declaration forms that have to be filled out, but no where can I find a listing of medications and supplements that Japan allows a tourist to bring with them into the country. I'm due to visit in September and need to know.

Do you think that the Philippine government has enough strategies or steps in dealing with the Global Warming?

Take a look with the reality of Global Warming:

I think because of our country is an Archipelago we are dealing with a wide coverage area and the government needs to have at least a $ BILLION $ to save our land.

Nowadays, when people talk of Palawan, they inevitably refer to El Nido, Amanpulo, and for divers, Tubbataha.

Yet, my most unforgettable experience in Palawan is when I stayed in Puerto Princesa, and joined a tour of the Underground River. The place is majestic, magical even. For some reason, it felt like I was in a scene from Phantom of the Opera.

Have you experienced this magic? Or do you plan to do this one day?

My favorite place in the Philippines (and in the world) is Batanes. I could go on all day talking about it, and how I enjoyed the ride on the falowa to the next island. And how amazed I was with the Honesty coffee shop. I tell my friends "wala kang karapatan mamatay (you should not die) unless you have been there".

If you have been there, what places did you visit? Would you be back there?

Look at a sampling of signs seen all over the place.

American tourists would surely chuckle at these - ".....spotted a bakery named "Bread Pitt," a Makati fast-food place selling maruya (banana fritters) called "Maruya Carey," a water-engineering firm called "Christopher Plumbing," a boutique called "The Way We Wear," a video rental shop called "Leon King Video Rental," a restaurant in the Cainta district of Rizal called "Caintacky Fried Chicken," a local burger restaurant called "Mang Donald's," a doughnut shop called "MacDonuts," a shop selling lumpia (meat parcels) in Makati called "Wrap and Roll," and two butchers called "Meating Place" and "Meatropolis."

Tourists from Europe may be intrigued to discover shops called "Holland Hopia" and "Poland Hopia." Both sell a type of Chinese pastry called hopia. What's the story? The names are explained thus: Holland Hopia is the domain of a man named Ho and Poland Hopia is run by a man named Po."
