Asia Pacific - July 2007

A friend is visiting Japan soon. He says he will bring something nice for me, but on top of that, he asked me if there's anything in particular I'd like. Is there anything really nice you have seen over there ? I love most Japanese stuff, ornaments and so, that's why I can't really decide. Your suggestions are most welcome.

I have been told this by both men and women. They claim homosexuality is a Western phenomena and there are no Korean homosexuals living in Korea. Homosexuality exists in every country in the world, but Koreans deny its existance in the own country? Are they extremely homophobic?

I am planning to travel to Thailand either on December or May. I am most interested in the gorgeous beaches,shopping for silks and silver and of course FOOD! I hear nothing but great news about Thailand. I want to make the best out of my trip so am asking where the best beaches are and how to get around as well as reasonable accomodations. I'm in Indonesia now, and I have to go to Guam on Business. But the job starts a week after my visa here expires. So I've decided to kill some time in the Philipines since I've never been there before. I'm looking for tips on a cheap comfortable room, and fun things for a young single guy to do for a week in Manila. I'm self employed, so my budget is kinda tight, but I don't mind backpacker style accomodations. Also any tips on the nightlife scene in manila will be much appreciated. Thanks
