I normally stay in grotty motels in Itaewon, but my mum and sister are visiting so I'd like to stay somewhere fairly decent. The hotels are a bit pricey, but I know there are some NICE motels that are cheaper. Somewhere like Insadong would be perfect, and around 80,000 won per night. (though the cheaper the better!) Any ideas?

Filipinas are common to be seen working in nightclubs in Japan or as maids in Japanese households. In fact, Filipinos cover of a significant portion of population in Japan. Some even marry Japanese men for money more than for "love." I don't look down on my fellow Filipinas as I even have an aunt who was an entertainer in Japan herself. I am a Filipina (who lives in America) and I plan to study in Japan for a year... the thing is, I want to know how the Japanese see my people. Are Filipinas looked down upon in the Japanese society? Let's say I date a Japanese guy, will the guy's family not approve because I am Filipina?

This question is by no means intended to offend the Japanese or Filipinos -- just a question by a curious person.

My boyfriend has asked me to marry him. He is a Japanese man and a Japanese citizen and would like us to be registered in Japan as husband and wife. I know I have to visit the US Embassy in Japan, but do I need to be LIVING in Japan in order to be married thru the Japanese government? I am of course, of legal age to be married.

I'm going to Thailand in February (2008) can anyone recommend a good yoga retreat in Koh Phangnan, Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi or Koh Tao? I went to a place called "The Sanctuary" on Koh Phangnan. I'm looking for a similar place - cleanses, daily yoga classes and spa but with a better beach.
