I spent over a year in S Korea. I found the people very polite, and had good work habits. The kids seemed to never stopped trying to learn.
They seemed to be very industrious. And in my opinion, some of the young Korean women I've seen are the most beautiful women in the world. The laws are rather harsh. A person could get 20 years in prison for stealing a bicycle. And police brutality? That didn't seem to be against the law when I was there, back in 1970.
I heard that was against the law to eat dog meat. But that law was not enforced.
I like to be around Koreans today. In fact, I was at a korean owned store today just to see them and try out my korean words I know on them. It is always a nice experience.
About korean cars, I was a pizza guy for a 9 years. During that time I bought three Hyundia cars. I found them very reliable. In fact, I still have my third one, bought new in 1995. It still runs great and I get 44 miles to the gallon.
Korea, when I was there, was a third world country. From what I see now it seems like it is developed now. I'd like to go back for a visit someday.

I am an American who also lives in Korea and I like it here. I do not ignore Koreans at all. Whether they all eat dog or not, I can not say, however, I do know that some do eat dog. In fact, there is a resteraunt near my apartment that specializes in dog. I own a Santa Fe and it works fine for me, so Korean cars are OK. There are too many mobile phones, and if I didn't need to have one, I would not own a cell phone. I like the Korean culture for the most part and I think most Koreans are warm and friendly once you get to know them. It did take some getting used to getting shoved out of line by 20 ajumas trying to get on a bus at the same time. Korea is obviously developing, especially since the 1988 Olympics and the 2002 World Cup....of course, both these events have caused your prices for goods to go up as well. Korea will continue to develop as long as some idiot doesn't think he can win a war on the Korean peninsula. I also think Korean women are sexy, even though they don't normally have well developed features. All the above is a true opinion from me.

I love Korea. I have been there twice as a soldier and would love to go back. The food is great. I really enjoyed going around to see the country. The people there were very friendly. I love the Korean since of family, how family is very important in Korean life. I know that some Koreans eat dog as a delicacy. I was really grossed out about it at first but I know that all cultures are different. I used to go hiking in the countryside with friends. I really enjoyed going to the Art district ?insa dong.
White and black people in the US do not have the same problems as before. Allot of white and black people are friends but there are still problems with a small amount of people. I was not brought up to ignore or judge people by their race.
I think Kim Il Sung is an a**, but I bet most of the N. Korean people are friendly too. I think it is sad how he keeps N. Korea locked away from the rest of the world.
PS if you say "dog food" that means food that dogs eat, you could just say "What do you think about Koreans eating dog?".

Korean people:
I'm Korean American. There will always be some bad apples in the bunch, I think we're okay on the whole. There seems to be a bit of an anti-American sentiment in Korea these days, but what country outside the US doesn't feel that way?
I have never eaten dog in my entire life. My mom's never eaten dog, and my dad had it once.
Cars: My brother has a Hyundai, and it's probably the best running car in my family. Samsung has some of the best cell phones in the market right now. Culture- maybe I'm a bit biased but I think it's great. I celebrate Choosuk (Korean thanksgiving), Korean New Year, and love Dok Guk, Yook Gae Jang, galbi, etc...
Developing or developed? Well, let's put it this way: On a per capita basis, Korea is one of the most tech savy countries in the world. 80% of all S.Koreans now own cell phones. 35 to 40 % of the population of S.Korea are on Cyworld- not even Myspace is that popular in the US. And Koreans dominate in online gaming.

you don't know anything about White and black people
MTV, Movies, and TV shows don't show you the real world
Yes a lot of people know that some Koreans eat dogs, so what. Americans eat microwave food.
"LG" is crap you know that but Hyundai makes a decent car and hyosung is an OK motorcycle.
as far as development goes for your country it comes at a price.... like the pollution haze that hangs over Seoul which otherwise looks like it may have once been a beautiful place.
culturally Koreans seem close minded...... and because of that they are selective when it comes to finding friends... usually choosing other Koreans instead of integrating into a foreign culture... sort of disappointing
My advice to you is stay open minded, try new things and don't let the way you have been raised hold you back

I lived for 2 years and Seoul, Korea and I had a great time. I have many Korea friends and I enjoyed teaching and also working with Koreans. I foudn that Korean people who very friendly 99% of the time. Just a very very small percentage presumed I was American (I'm English) and gave me abuse (usually drunk elderly men).
I know many peopel who tried dog including Westerners. It is a delicacy though and not very commonly eaten! I personally do not see much difference between eating dog or chickens or any other animal. An animal is an animal.
Korean technology is EXCELLENT! The culture overall is very interesting.

Korea is a very developed country. It is very industrialized. I am an American that has lived in Korea for two years and was amazed with how modern and advanced it was, both technologically and socially. I lived in Busan and Taegu.
Not all Korean's eat keh (dog). I only was served it once in 2 years Pulgogee (marinated beef) is very delicious.
Korean people are awesome. They are so cultured, polite and humble. I think they are awesome.

안녕하세요. I am planning my first visit to Seoul late this summer. Also I'm trying to learn Korean, which is the first language I've tried to learn on my own since I had to take French in high school. Most people I know who are educated don't think anything bad about South Korea -- especially those of us who have studied and worked with native Koreans. Also, I'm very impressed that South Korea is so technologically advanced -- and I've owned a Hyundai. And 한국음식 is yummy: 돌솓비빔밥 제일이에요!

I've been living in Korea for 6 years now. Currently studying hear maybe until my master degree. Personally, I think Koreans have serious problem of discrimination against foreigners especially from South East Asia. Not to western foreigners though and they treat Americans with full respect. I wonder why.

Hey buddy, are you gone mad, so is it just you want to know people's thought on Korea. Well, first of all the speling of Krorea is Korea, secondly, Korea should not have gone for seperations. But, in any case it has gone, over all Korea is developed country, even thoug there is too much voilence, no matter what people look like, what they eat, etc. but most of all the Koreans are good loving people, the technology is very much advanced, the country is very powerful, but best thing it looks into its own matters, & is not like the US, which keeps an eye on each country & tries to creat fights between two neighbouring countries & tries to ears big incomes. Korea has a good unique culture, I suggest the Koreas to please start English as an Important Language, or you will be in trouble, it's good to have your own mothertongue but English is the prime language used all across the glob. I love some movies of Koreas, & a few actors. Best of luck dear & calm down.
