To elaborate, if I buy a ticket using my frequent flier miles (say, on US Airways), will I be awarded miles for that travel? I ask this because, it is technically not a free ticket when I spend my miles to buy one.

Some friends and I are planning to take a trip in early August to FRANCE (3 people). We are going there to visit one of my friends family and to stay with them while we are there. We are three college students who are very low on cash so we're trying to cut expenses any way that we can. I'm located in Miami, Florida and my question(s) is, which is the least expensive airport to fly to in FRANCE? It doesn't matter where in france the airport is located because her family will come and pick us up. We are willing to drive just about any where in florida to get a cheaper flight. The cheapest we found is 850 per person...

Also is there a preferred airline to fly to FRANCE? Or should we just stick with a domestic flight?

Thank you,

GaTo

I'm a fairly good flight attendant, always trying to be nice to my customers and friendly to everyone. When you go on a cruise, you tip everyone who serves you but when you get on the airplane to go home, you quit.

Years ago "they" told us not to accept tips because "they" paid us nicely enough. OK, we all know that's changed. So what's up with not tipping your flight attendants?

Whenever I fly, I get chosen to be searched. I'm ready to file a suit against somebody because I cannot get through an airport without being stopped; pulled into a small room & searched. I have dual citizenship. Could this be doing it? If I AM on a watch list, what can I do?

Every single time I fly, I get "chosen" to be searched! They pull me aside into a small room; make me take my shoes off; hold my arms out while they wave that wand over me; etc. I mean, EVERY FREAKIN' TIME I FLY!
It's gotten to the point that I pretend I'm Deaf (I know ASL) to slow THEM down because I'm so freakin' upset that they pick me every single time I fly.
What gives? Is there some kind of code assigned to me or my name? I look & carry myself like a normal American. It REALLY p!sses me off that I get picked each time! What can I do?

I know it's only short distance from one terminal to the other or such, but why risk the embarassment of falling over in front of a bunch of strangers that you will never see again?

For all of you out there, nail clippers are fine going through security, second the x-ray doesn't alarm, the person sitting there is the one who decides if the bag is ok, and next no lighters or any type of knife as some think, stop telling people it's ok.

I need to buy plane tickets for Massachusetts or Maine from Orlando, and I need some discount tickets because I will be flying there every month. Any suggestions besides travelocity and other websites? I'd rather have some super discounts from buying other stuff or similar. Thanx.

Do you have to know someone who works for the airport to get the tickets or can you just show up and ask to be put on the list as a stand by? If a ticket is now $600 at best about how much should i expect to pay as a stand by? Is stand by picked by price or nesissity or first in line once they have a cancelation?

A close friend will likely be flying about 600 miles (NY to Maine) on a small private plane. The plane is probably a twin-engine propellor plane that seats around 4 people, with a professional pilot. He is concerned about safety. Can he do anything to improve his chances? Any special kind of plane to request or avoid? Anything to request or look for in the pilot? Any other tips to help ensure a safe trip? Thanks!

Why is it that so many people have a problem with taking off their shoes at the airport? I'm sorry but as a TSA Officer I see a lot of people going to Cancun or other vacation spots that have those beautiful beaches, knowing they are going to go to the beach and walk barefoot. Do they not realize that people and creatures pee and poo and do other things on the beach and in the water. So would it be ok with them if TSA put some sand on the floor and through the metal detector, would it make a difference?
