a person would have to take to get fr California to Manitoba, Canada ? I know that he's gonna have to transfer once he gets to Winnipeg cuz there's a small plane that comes out my way & it's a 3 hr drive (40 min flight) to get here. Manitoba is in central Canada, right above ND. Can someone help me out ? My online friend told me that he's saved up $700. We might get to meet this YR !!! If not this yr then maybe '07. How much is $700 American in Canadian currency ? Thanx !!! :)

Flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco will connect in Minneapolis (Northwest Airlines), Chicago (United and American) or Vancouver/Calgary/Toronto (Air Canada) to get to Winnipeg.
With advance purchase, flights should cost around USD$500 to Winnpeg alone.

Venus. Manitoba is a small province, therefore he has NO CHOICE but stop by the INTERNATIONAL airport of Winnipeg to clear his immigration and custom BEFORE he entered the territory of Canada.
I think it will be a lot more fun if you pick him up by car. You have time to spend on the road so he would know more about the country and stuff like that.
Another advice I could give you is to change the currency b4 U entered the other country. You'll always get MORE than when you changed it there. (PERSONAL EXPERIENCE)
If u happen to know the airport code of Manitoba, let me have it. Maybe I could help you more in this case.
