Why is it that so many people have a problem with taking off their shoes at the airport? I'm sorry but as a TSA Officer I see a lot of people going to Cancun or other vacation spots that have those beautiful beaches, knowing they are going to go to the beach and walk barefoot. Do they not realize that people and creatures pee and poo and do other things on the beach and in the water. So would it be ok with them if TSA put some sand on the floor and through the metal detector, would it make a difference?

Im not dwelling on it, I just want to know, second children under 12 do not have to remove their shoes unless they alarm, and to make things easier get the shoes with thin soles like Keds or the Puma's, it is nice when we hear that people are glad to have us.

If you have multiple bags, while waiting in line start getting everything ready that way when you get up to the x-ray all you have to do is take out your laptop and take off your shoes if recommended.

I don't have a problem with it, and haven't seen anyone else have a problem with it, but then again I don't work there so I don't see what you see. You know how people are, they hate to be inconvenienced and some just love to complain..try to appreciate all those who do cooperate without complaint and your days will go better, I am sure!

I am curious WHY we need to take our shoes off??? If you are under 12 or over 75 you don't have to... so why the people in between.. just curious....I really don't mind... but I also don't want to undress down to my bathingsuit in the TSA line or get wet for that matter... but don't have a problem stripping down at the beach or getting WET at the BEACH... there is a time and place for everything,,, I just do see the purpose of some people taking off their shoes and OTHERS not... What makes a 75 year old person's shoes exempt??? just curious... Thanks,,,,

Yes, it is quite inconvenient sometimes. I had travel with my family and an infant and we all got selected for a full search. We were carrying multiple bags and I understand checking the bags and my laptop. But then my baby was crying and everyone had to remove their shoes. And finally, after losing a lot of time during that check, one of the officers had lost my itinerary with my travel plans. We didn't go anywhere cause we're in the checkup area, so what happened to it? All they said was they don't know what happened to it with not even so much of a "I'm sorry" or anything and they were rude. Perhaps you are different, so I'm not talking about you, but my family was not happy with the whole incident. Don't expect any donations from us anytime soon.
We're in the USA, not in some foreign country and should be held responsible for our actions. We'ver forgotten our manners or how to be polite to others just because some of us believe we are above the law. If we weren't in a hurry to catch our flight, I would of file a complaint up the chain of command.

poor foot smell? heavily in spite of the indisputable fact that, airport safe practices has lengthy gone nuts. there'll always be a thanks to blow up planes. always. no remember how protect you're making it, there'll always be a way. Why no longer attempt to wrestle the motives of terrorism? it truly is a lot less puzzling to only blow up a construction instead of having a airplane to do it at this element.

I don't know why people have a problem. People are asked to take thier shoes off in my house and no one has a problem with it. So why being asked to take your shoes off at the airport is it any different. When you are traveling you know that you are going to have to do it so wear socks and have slip off shoes its that simple.

It is inconvenient if you are going with multiple bags carrying items like laptops which need further checking. No you are being pulled in multiple directions... putting your shoes on (sometimes there are no chairs nearby) and getting your laptop checked.
