For Cali to Vegas, check America West, Southwest and United. The cheapest fares go fast, so book well in advance. Southwest does not participate in the travel sites, so you will have to go to their website. These 3 offer non-stop flights, so these are your best options. Go to their sites, you can find better deals rather than on the travel sites AND avoid booking fee's and rediculous schedules.

Worked for an airline and Vegas was my last city.

Cheapest is Southwest. No question.
Book at least 3 weeks in advance to get the best price.
