Why do Americans never call people by their names?

Is it some national trait? I met a lot of them, through work, and they never call you by name, and can be divided by three groups:
1. Just plain ignore your name after you introduce yourself. The best group, so far. They call you "you" and "hey you".
2. Out of sudden address you as "Sara", and take umbrage when you do not respond. They decided to call you Sarah because there is an "a" in your name, and they have a girlfriend with this name.
3. Shout out of a sudden: "Split! Hey, split! Why do you ignore me? Don't you know that Split is a new nickname I INVENTED FOR YOU? I ONCE HAD A DOG WITH THIS NAME!" I already have a name, thank you, it's human, and I got it many years before! I do not need anyone to re-christen me!
Indeed, I NEVER met an American who would call people by name after they introduce themselves.
Ah, and my name is very easy both to remember and pronounce. There is nothing difficult or exotic about it. It's international.

has there been any bears in sequoia kings canyon in cedar grove because we come there alot in the summer?

is there any bears in sequioa kings canyon national park in cedar grove . we love seeing the bear with her 2 cubs at cedar grove at party rock whitch is now called muir rock ! it is so cool to see bears because we go there every summer and we always see bears and so i mite be going there soon maybe not . but i just like checking in on the bear activity!

Should I become an American singer?

When I was little, my parents sent me to a music school. I like
music and attended for 6 years, but my voice turned out to be pretty but very small! So, I abandoned it and moved on. Now, listening to kind of "music" produced in the US I think that I missed my real career. I will move to the US, and sing "ooouh ouuh auh auh bang bang", showing pieces of me here and there... People say that I have some body parts worth seeing... And I will be a star! The revelation came when I was listening o a new CD, in which a "top band" was singing, a French song, and they didn't even bother to memorise the lyric, and went on with "baaaah baaah baaaaah bang", chanting rather than singing it. And, what the hell? If this all fail, I can always become famous for showing my body parts (as this girl, what's her name, who is famous for her big butt and because her father, a lawyer, was in the case, defending a murderer who killed someone famous; fame is contagious in States).

I got a email from someone regarding Israel and Palestine, Can you answer the question for this person?

This was sent to me by email, instead of me replying with my own answer, I thought it would be good to hear from you kids better answers to send him.

Here is the question:

Israel/Palestine conflict for dummies?
Can you explain to me the conflict in unbiased, lemans terms? My understanding is that Jewish people were given Palestine (Israel) to resettle after the war and the Palestinian people were unceremoniously shifted to Lebanon. But I know I'm probably wrong. And I don't really understand what's been happening ever since. Also, I hear people making comments about the USA's involvement with Israel but I know nothing of that either.
You might think I'm a total dumbass (and you'd be right) but I've only started reading newspapers in the last year and can't get to grips with the context surrounding all these articles that I'm reading.

Is there anyone here who always receives violation notices for unreasonable causes?

Andrea Bocelli Performances?

My mom is a DIE HARD Andrea Bocelli fan. She has never seen him in concert, and I really want to surprise her one day and take her to a concert. I know he is on tour now, but my mom lives in CA and I live in VA. I am going to visit her over the last two weeks in Dec. so I will miss getting to CA for his tour. Anyway, I was just wondering if he has regular concerts in Vegas? I thought I heard somewhere that he has a regular nightly show in Vegas. is this true? Please answer!! :-)

Which Hawaiian beach has the calmest water to swim in? And which island is the best to visit?

It would be me, a single female in her mid 20's, who would like to relax without huge crouds. I especially am interested in swimming in an ocean without crazy waves and have some interesting things to do on the island. Somewhere I'd feel comfortable and weclomed by the Hawaiians.

What is Mexico like in late March (weather etc). I am thinking of visiting Mexico City and a couple of other characterful places.

is it safe?
