What is the best cell phone?

I travel to China and need one that is easy and practical to use.

Get one from China. They're probably the most useful since you won't have trouble trying to get the phone to work in China. I use Nokia, which is relatively easy to operate. It works in both places very well. Any newer models of the Nokia would be fine.
