Where is the chepeast and safest place to stay while in NYC? I plan to stay for a few weeks while job searching. I would also like to be close to restaurants and transportation.

I just returned from a trip to England and am returning in 8 weeks to visit my boyfriend for 2 months. I am wondering if I will just be able to pass through customs as I did before even though my 6 month visa stamp is still valid and if so do I get a new 6 month stamp starting on the date of my entry into the country or just the remainder of the time from the previous entry?

I currently live in the South of England but I'm looking into the possibilities of moving to Paris. How can I find a job there first? I can speak basic French but would like a job in something like an english language bookshop or something similar at first.
