I'm going to Egypt in January and I'm planning on going diving. I will be in Sharm El Sheikh. Is it easy enough to do single day trips and how much are they? Does anyone have recommendations on companies.

There are many good dive centers in Sharm. When I used to dive I used Africa Divers run by a German married to an Austrian. Sinai Divers is also good. Generally speaking I preferred diving with Germans,or French and I was never keen on Italians.
There are plenty of shore dive which you can do with your buddy and all you need is to hire a tank and just walk into the water. There are distant sites which can only be done by boat; such as Gordon, Jackson & Thomas reefs. Ras Mohamme can be done from shore, but best by boat. Enjoy yourself before the sites are destroyed by over diving.
