I want to tell my wife about the nightmare I had when I was 16, and want to show her some of the places that were in the nightmare. Should we go, and should I tell her about some of the evil events that took place at the 2nd Battle of Ypres? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Battle_of_Ypres Please research the battle before you even answer my question.

Usually, the #30 bus is unbelievably crowded until McCallister when everyone gets off, and goes to class. There is this wall of people swarming across the street between the dorms and the rest of ASU. But not on Thursdays. Not a hungover college kid to be seen? What gives?

I used to think that maybe classes went Mon-Thurs and Thursday was optional, but then Friday is just as bad as the rest of the week. Can someone explain this to me?

I'm planning to go to London for 6 month, and maybe more.

I heard about economic flat share, it might be helpfull for the first month, time to get a job and find another appartment according to the place I'll work in.

Can someone recommand me a place?

I have a preference for the center, camden, islington or westminster. I know they aren't in the cheaper areas, but if I can choose...

I am on a 9 hour flight from Brisbane to Tokyo next Saturday and I know that the 747-300 model planes dont have TV in the back of seats.

If there is no inflight movies on at the front of our area, I have nothing to do exept listen to crap music and you must keep the window shutter closed!

What can I do??? WHat else can I do if I cant sleep on the plane (like last time)

Thanks

Going to Montana for a week and a half in late October until early November. Obviously I'll be bringing warmer clothes then what I'd wear on a normal day in San Diego. But are there any must haves? I haven't spent any time up North and just want to be prepared. Thanks in advance.

ok. well this is probabbly in shorthand because I got it off messenger with my bestfriend who likes to annoy my by talking in random languages. I've tried all the online dictionaries but its all in shorthand, so theres no use even trying. anyway, if someone could translate the following, I'd be more than greatful. thanks!

I've tried discussing things on German forums since I understand the language. The only thing was that I wrote in English. Since I didn't write some words in capital letters such as "english" or "german" or words that you'd usually write in capital letters they just started picking on me. They said things like "oh I don't think she's from the U.S." or "she's not a native english speaker" or they just called me a liar. Why are people so obsessed about something like this. It's not that it bothered me but I'm just wondering in general.

I want to get out of the US this summer and explore another country. I'd probably stay in hostels or something along those lines, backpacking around. Any suggestions, reference links or even books?

New jobs?-requires new industries willing to move (back) to the city where taxes seem to be higher, crime issues, "skilled" work-force issues; not to mention the continual loss of jobs in Detroit and the whole metro area due to problems of the Big Three.
Remove/tear down vacant buildings and clean up the city?-requires more money, higher taxes, businesses and more people to increase tax base, etc.
Try to entice more/new people back into the city to live?- requires jobs, better schools, businesses, shopping, better city services, and, a much greater sense of safety.
Improve city services and/or schools?- population, job, and business loss inhibit the ability to do so with an ever decreasing tax base.
Get tough on crime?-again difficult because requires greater police presence which requires more taxes which requires more industries, businesses, residents moving into the city;also partly requires eliminating abandoned homes/cleanup

It all seems like a vicious circle-where to start

I used to fly a lot, but have been doing other things for the past few years.

So, what handy hints do you have if I'm going on a trip soon? No liquids, be ready to take your shoes off, no carry-on, what?

My habit used to be to NEVER check anything - either it went in carry-on or I didn't bring it. Also, I'm ashamed to admit, but before a flight is the one time I ABUSE alcohol. I didn't like flying in the best of situations, so I'd stop at the airport bar and get that "rosy glow" (but not get smashed, of course) and try to keep the buzz going through the flight to calm my nerves. Do they still serve as many drinks?

In short, what should I expect that's very different? Yes, I'll show up early.

These might be silly questions, but this is the place to ask. Thanks!

The new airlines like Easyjet and Ryanair don't give you a seat? Why ? and yesterday they wrote my name on the boarding card by hand. Do they save money not using the airport computer system, or do they reckon it is easier and faster?
