Going to Montana for a week and a half in late October until early November. Obviously I'll be bringing warmer clothes then what I'd wear on a normal day in San Diego. But are there any must haves? I haven't spent any time up North and just want to be prepared. Thanks in advance.

coat and boots; Montana get snow early. Gloves, hat, long johns (I am not kidding when I say all of this). It gets colder faster in Montana than it does in NYC or San Diego

I am not sure abou the climate you will be encountering, but for what is worth, here is my rule for vacation packing...

first, put all the clothes you think you are going to need on your bed

second, on the nightstand put all the cash you think you will need.

Now, reduce the pile of clothes by half, and double the pile of cash...now, you are set!
