Why does it seem like nearly everyone on the east side of the U.S. thinks of Washington D.C. when you just say Washington. I've been to New York, Florida, and South Carolina several times, and whenever they ask me where I'm from, I always tell them I'm from Washington and they always assume Washington D.C.

what are some fun things to do in amsterdam if you have 2 toddlers? my husband and i are planning to go in october, as a family trip. we both realize what amsterdam is known for, but realize that people in amsterdam have families and kids and babies too so we want to know, where can we go to do family oriented things and where do the dutch take their little ones to have fun? please be specific, the more info the better.

Will be travelling to the Netherlands soon, my french is mediocre and german is poor, I was hoping someone could provide a link for a dutch translator or phrase guide. Or if you can recommend a book that would be appreciated. Just need to get by conversationally, so nothing too complicated please. :)

I'm about to go on my first flight. I plan to pack all my clothes and items in my backpack. I can carry it on the flight with me, right? Also do I have to put it in the overhead compartment? I'd like to keep it with me when I'm in my seat (will have my ipod & games in it)

My 76 yr old dad has problem getting travel insurance. He resides in Malaysia but will travel with us from Singapore to Thailand.

He can't buy fr M'sia because our trip does not start and end there. He can't buy fr Spore because he is not Sporean nor resident.

Very frustrating!

mumbo jumbo bags, im just bringing a little backpack, and a sleeping bag. im going to greece this thursday wiht my bf, never done any of these types of trips. we're staying for a week, renting a scooter and going from island to island.
