I love figure skating but I dont have a rink nearby to skate on. The mall nearby only lets kids skate with hockey skates, and they have to be under thirteen. I may go to Jordan, but would I ever have a chance there? Would I have a chance to go pro if I went back to the states??? Or should I just stick to the dreams...but I really really want to be one.

I've looked at Graf and Jackson skates and I think I'm leaning more towards Graf... but I'm still not sure. I've worn almost every type of skate that there is and I haven't been very satisfied with any of them. I just need some reassurance on this decision.

Well I have Risport RF4 skates with MK21 blades. Beginner and I've broken into the boots for quite a while.

I bought the skates second-handed, so the blades are not fitted especially for me. I'm not sure if the position affects though.

I realise that after skating for around one hour and sometimes even lesser, my right foot will hurt, at the area of the arch. I'm Asian with relatively narrower foot than other Asians. Are Risport boots suitable?

I know that I'm asking about the arch, but I'm wondering the tongue should be felt on the shin. Sometimes it irritates me, and no, I'm NOT going to wear tights/stockings. My friend said that that was not normal. Is it lace bite if it kind of puts pressure at where the knot is tied?

I've a left knee injury, currently not skating. Could putting more weight on the right side be the reason? Pst. I want to get back to skating ASAP!

Please answer the questions that you know if you can!

I can never diffenrentiate between those 3 jumps. An axel and toe loop is easy to recognize, but the other 3... I've no idea. Also, are there any jump combinations that is not allowed in figure skating? And lastly, Is Timothy Goebel the only figure skater to have ever successfully complete a quadruple-quadruple jump combination?

I want to start figure skating and I'm 13. How long does it take to master all the basic moves of figure skating, and what are they? Also, how long does it take for a skater to be good, not EXTREMELY good, but you know, all the basic jumps and spins. =D

I have mastered my Waltz, and want to move on. What is the next jump you learned? I can get in the air high enough to do a full 360, but can't land it.
P.S. I'm not using my toepick on that one jump!
Any tips? Please help!

i am 16, and would LOVE to become proficient in figure skating.

unfortunately, i am (1) very out of practice...i haven't done it regularly up to this point, and (2) am not very agile. i used to take gymnastics, but no longer do.

i'm willing to put effort into this, as i feel it is a beautiful form of self-expression, as well as an impressive and challenging activity, and so if i am still able to learn, i will.

i'm not looking to compete at this point, either. this is just for my personal happiness.

however, is 16 too late? and exactly how long will progress take?

thanks!
