Of course you can! Lots of people ask such questions but the truth is you can learn how to skate at any age! I was17 when I first got onto the ice and learn how to skate. I know it's a bit harder when you are older as you are embarassed of falling and the fear of falling seems to be compounded with age. Try getting low onto the ice and even sitting down on the ice and getting up. You can also try falling down lightly (yes on purpose) and when you overcome that fear of falling, it becomes very fun and easy! If you are really scared, you can hold onto the rink barrier for support but let go of it slowly. Good luck! =)

Of course you can skate if you practice. Some of the best skaters in the world didn't start until they were around your age. Have you ever fallen on your back? It's actually better than falling on your front because then you can't smack on chin on the ice. Just remember to curl your chin into your chest if you fall backwards so that you don't hit your head. I've been skating for 8 years, I wouldn't reccommend buying skates at first. Rent skates the first few times you go. If you really like it, then go to a pro shop and ask them for advice on buying skates for beginners. Start out buy skating slowly forwards. You may have to hold onto the boards, but that's okay. It may be worth it to invest in a few private lessons with a coach because it will really help you get ahead.

I'm 24 never ice skated but would like to some day, but anyway falling down and getting the bumps and bruises is not that big of a deal because once you can do all the moves you'll forget all about the pain and bruises it took to get there...if you watch figure skating on tv you will learn that even the best still tumble and fall although they've been doing it for years........Good Luck

It is never to late to learn how to skate. If you think you are going to fall than you are going to fall. Think that you can skate not fall. And remember bend your knees. Oh, you can also get some lessons to help you skate the right way. Figure skates are good for beginners cause when you get better you Will have them. And they will keep you skating.

I was only 9 when I learned, so I think you can too, but rent skates, they're better for beginners, I was scared too, but after two times around the rink, I let go. I fell once, it was kinda fun, I laughed at myself, shook it off, then I got up, and then I tried again. I could skate! I think you can if I did. Remember, if you fall, its ok, just have fun! So you answer in a word, TOTALLY! Good luck!

I'm 13 and one of the best at my rink! Though i started skating when i was about 4. BUT my coach said she didn't start skating until she was in collage! and she ROCKS! start out slow you aren't gonna land your Axel on the first day! just skate back and fourth on the ice. it the arena will let you use a chair as a balance and push it around. Some rinks have different things to use than just a chair though! GO FOR IT!

Sure you can learn all it takes is practice. I'm not very good at ice skating either but in gymnastics sometimes I'll be scared to do something and all it takes is trust and practice
~it won't hurt if you fall down just get back up.

learning how to skate is like life. you will fall many times. the trick is to be strong and get up again.
you've seen the best skaters fall.
of course you will.
tip: go slow? and stay away from other beginners cause most likely they will fall on you.
