Try your local skate shop as many of them carry used skates and have skate professionals that can properly fit them for her. Don't buy them off ebay, it's way better to try them on before you buy them.

Your daughter will also be better off in figure skates over hockey skates as the rocker of the blade is less severe making balance easier and the toe pick will allow for easier pushing in the beginning.

Lilly, you missed out cos you never realised you could..! I was a red-hot roller-skater and when I was 12 I once skated from Clapton Pond to Piccadilly Circus and back. Then they opened the Harringay Ice Rink and we all trooped along and I paid the fee, hired some ice-skates and put them on. Then I Simply went out onto the ice, skated forward and found I could skate perfectly. Stopping was the only thing that was different, otherwise it was identical to roller-skating. You stopped by bracing one skate against the heel of the other is all. They used to have an organist playing all the time and the sessions lasted for 45 minutes. Then they cleared the Ice and there was a ten minute segment for figure skaters and dancers. Then, finally a 5 minute speed skating session. That was manic..! The kids that did well in the speed sessions were often invited to join the Junior Ice Hockey League. I remember, that was the place I drank Coca Cola for the first time. This was 1947.

Used skates r best 4 younger kids. cause the skate is broken in already. and kids only use skates 4 1 winter anyways cause they out grow them. try her ion hockey skates at first. cause she will probably trip over the picks in the front of the figure skate. Play it again sports is good 4 used skates.

Buying them from Sportswap or another second hand sport shop is really good but if you don't want recreational skates then at a skate shop, but the competitive ones cost alot even when there second hand.
