Or what about a rifle that shoots handgun ammo?

I can only get 1 handgun and it will only be for target shooting and range purposes.I have shot both guns but I cannot make up my mind. I like the XD better but the glock 34 has longer sight radius and it uses a polygonal barrel. I need your opinions. the cost difference is less than 100 bucks. I dont want to make the wrong decision. which one do you guys like? thanks in advanced

but I worry sometimes If I'm carrying it in my purse..or if my daughter is at home.... I think i would feel better with some sort of safety.... or lock rather on the gun.

Also... if I did have a lock on the trigger... how hard would it be to get it off if I needed to?

It doesn't seem "real" to me. I think it just might be me. Here is a link to see what I have. http://www.savagearms.com/111fcxp3.htm It is the same model, I have one in .270. Is it a gun worth having and hunting with? Also, what range should I sight it in at? Thank you.

This looks like a decent shotgun for home defense. I've looked in Pawn Shops, and I can't find anything that would be decent for home defense. Mostly long and bulky guns, and their too much money. Does this look like a decent gun? I'm just trying to get people's opinions.

I've also checked all the WalMart's around my area and none of them sell guns.

I don't want to buy a gun that's going to fall apart on me, I just want something that I can throw in my closet if I need to use it in case of a home invasion, and something I can take to my Grandpas lakehouse in the woods every 2 years or so.

Thanks guys! Btw, is that gun a 12 gauge? How do I tell? By the chambers size?

Gun has a tenifer caoting and when I carry it and sweat surface rusts forms on the gun. Does anyone have suggestions on how to remove it?

I'm just really curious to know what oppinions are on this. Just say you were in a tactical survival situation where a bunch of thugs were attacking you with mixed weapons mostly AK's and all your group had was .22 rifles. How would you fair in semi-open terrain of between 50 and 200 yards of open space? How about in more closed terrain of between 10 and 100 yards of space?

Muzzle loaders, Self reloading, Military rifles, Shotguns don't count. I'm talking about legal hunting/shooting rifles for civilian use with store bought cartridges.

I just want your opinion not the exact 100% hands down correct answer. Keep your thumbs down to yourself its an open forum.

I have an M-1 Carbine that my grandfather brought back from The Battle of the Bulge. I was looking through a catalog and saw a replacement stock for it and got to thinking if there are any other accesories for it. I'm not going to do anything to this gun but just want to know what could be done hypothetically. Thanks in advance!

I enjoy shooting as a pastime and Im looking to buy a rifle. Right now I just shoot pistols and my Savage .22. I'd like to buy a very small caliber (.25 or smaller) with very high velocity (4000 FPS or better) thats a "surgical instrument at 300 yards. I've looked at 22-250, 220 swift, 30-06 accelerator etc... My father who has lots of experience with rifles (retired army) tells me a very small bullet is susceptible to wind and I should use a higher caliber. I just like the idea of "small & fast". Any suggestions? And by the way, what's the highest velocity rifle I can buy? Thanx.

I've got a bunch of the Brenneke (sp?) shotgun slugs. I assume the more expensive sabots are more accurate, but I've been told that the standard $5 box of slugs that I have will be fine going through a rifled barrel. I will be sighting this in quite well before next weekend, I just wanted to axe you guys if it was okay. Thanks!
