General bullet velocities are

22 rimfire 900-1400fps.

22 magnum- 2000fps.

Most handguns(38, 45's 9mm) etc, usually around 750-1400fps

The fastest and most powerful hunting handguns. 1500-2200fps.

Handguns firing rifle cartridges- can be over 2000fps.

Shotgun shot loads(pellets) 1200-1400fps usually.

Shotgun solid slugs 1100-1600fps usually, though some special ones up to 2000fps.

Blackpowder guns (muzzleloders like daniel boone used, and blackpowder catrdige guns like they used in the late 1800's)

Usually under 1500fps but up to 2000fps in special cases.

Modern Rifles, anywhere from 2000-4000fps generally.

The speed record held by special custom built rifles is up around 6000fps or so.

"8mm" could mean a lot of different guns. If it is an old mlitary gun it will be around 2000-2500fps generally.

If it is a hunting magnum like the 8x68s or 8mm remington magnum they can go over 3000fps depending on bullet weight.

Too many factors to list. That would be like saying how fast is a car when you mash the gas pedal.

How much gun powder? As in how long is the cartridge casing.
How long is the barrel?
How much does the bullet weigh? An 8mm rifle bullet can weigh between about 120 grains up to and above 225 grains. Handgun bullets are lighter.
