What grain should i use? also should i use FMJ or soft tips. ( i am thinking soft tips would just destroy the animal)

Ok, for my birthday. I can either get a shotgun for smallgame and deer or a bow for deer. What do you think I should get? Can I use the shotgun for a late deer season in Pennsylvania?

I'm looking for a 12 gauge shotgun. I had a Mossberg 500 with a 28inch barrel. I wasn't happy with the recoil. I felt it had more kick than my Remington Woodmaster Model 742 30-06 does. Is there a shotgun made that has little recoil, that cost no more than $250?(pump action or semi, I do know semi auto tend to be more pricey. But just wondering if there are semis in that price range too)
Would a Benelli Nova cost that much?
I shot my cousins Nova, it seemed to me that it had way less recoil than my Mossberg did.

I have had my MP40 for sometime and lately it is not feeding the last round of all 5 factory mags...
It locks open like last round has been fired..But still has one round in the mag.........

I have a Savage Model 12FLV 22-250cal. I'm looking for a scope in the $100 price range. I use this gun for coyotes. Would it be wise to get a 50mm rather than a 40mm? Should I get a scope with a sun shade?
I've looked at Cabela's and Sportsman's Guide, lot of scopes. I just dont know what I should get. I don't want to spend to much, as I'm on a tight budget.

Any help or advice would help me in picking the right scope for my upcoming coyote hunt.

I know that there is a background check and 3 day waiting period to buy guns, but do I need to have any special license or permit to buy or own a rifle or handgun in Idaho? I'm 21 and don't plan on carrying a handgun as a concealed weapon, so I know I don't need a concealed weapons permit.

Ok, I'm taking the advise I got from YahooANswers people. I'm getting a new barrel for my Mossberg 590. The question i have is... is the barrel mentioned above the right one for me? I'd been thinking about getting another Mini-14....I've had three in past years....But if Ruger "never intended for civilians to have high-capacity magazines or folding stocks"....
Since Bill Jr. backs up his Dad's statements,
I think I'll get an AR instead.

For the first time in my life I am the proud owner of one of them stick throwers.

I have managed to procure a very nice compound crossbow. I have been shooting projectile weapons since I was 4, but have never fired a crossbow.

I am aware of the basics of safety and sanity. Unfortunately, I am not aware ofthe following:

- How to determine the proper bolt length?
- What type of bolts should I purchase - Practice and Hunting?
- What type of broadheads and how will each impact the flight or speed?
- It has a basic peep site. What should I look into as an upgrade?

Sometimes I see snipers having its tactical scope even an inch above barrel. Example, if they aim on a golf ball, why does the golf ball still burst into pieces when shot even if the barrel is an inch lower than the telescope. Shouldn't the bullet miss by an inch lower?
