These decoy are made just for hunting ducks in water. I am looking for new ideas for waterproofing, I have used Thompsons in the past.

Try Minwax "Helmsman" Varathane in the brush on or spray. Comes in Satin or Gloss finish and can be painted over water based paints or oils. Offers great protection and is water resistant. It's used on wooden boat decks and is tough and durable, fast drying too!

Go to your local hobby shop, or mass retailer and buy gloss over coat in a spray can.

It doesn't matter if it's Testors or Krylon.

Buy a good Gloss over spray and apply it by manufacturers instructions.

It will seal your decoy against the elements and provide a durable finish year after year.

Wood? I'd consider Thompson's Water Seal. I have used it for wood that's in the weather for years and been real happy with it.

If you don't care about what the texture feels like, try rubbing mink oil on them.
