Yep, it's spring, and the gators are doing their things. If they're not pairing up and getting territorial where you're at now, they will be soon. My father's our local nuisance alligator trapper for the State, and I can tell you east central Florida is really waking up as far as the dinosaurs go

What does this mean to you? It means it's time to start watching your steps, alligators lazing in the sun after a cold front don't want to get back into the water, it's cold, and they're cold and they can't warm themselves up. They're sluggish, they're moody, and the males will be looking for girlfriends any time now. Just like the fish are looking for warm spots in the water, so are the gators, and trust me, they're in salt, too, and they'll look just like a barnacled log or something until you're right on top of them.

Why is it that every weekend since I got my new job it's either been too cold, windy, or rainy for me to take the kayak out to go fishing? The few exceptions to this have been when I had previous plans for other things. When am I going to be able to get back out there, this is driving me bonkers!!!!

It wouldn't be so bad if I knew the wind was going to keep coming out of the south like it is now, but we've got a front that's supposed to come through with winds from the north either late this afternoon or tonight sometime, and I don't want to be somewhere that's sheltered now that I'm not going to be able to paddle out of when this crap comes through....

This message goes out to all of you extremists envirmnetalists who think that hunting, fishing, logging, camping, 4wheeling and such should be banned. Try living out on a deserted isand for one month. Nothing man made is to go with you. No cloths, No knives, No metal produckts, and no food. Your goal is to live on the island with just what god gave you when you came into this world. You are not allowed to use a fire or make any tools that can harm the enviroment. making cutting objects out of rocks is forbidden as this disrupts natures ballance. No fires, because fire is harmfull to the enviroment. No eating of any wild animal or fish because this too will disrupt the echo system on the island. No eating of the plants, becaue yuor preciouse spotted owlel (or its cousine) might be in need of it. No Deficating on the island (deficating is a huge polutant). If you think you can survive and you can give me ten ways without harming the envirment and/or the echo system I might
