Injun makes a good point in spending money on tackle that you will be able to use. For myself I learned with a Shakespeare "Boss" baitcaster. It was a cheap model no longer made. I wasted more money on fishing line picking out bird nests than I paid for the reel ($29). It was only after I bought a Daiwa Procaster ($59) with the Magforce cast control that I gained confidence in my ability to throw "into the wind". I have used or owned most every brand baitcaster made (still want to get one of the Shimano DC's) and own 50+ baitcasters ( I still live and die by Team Daiwa products) so I do have a pretty good experience with these types of reels in 45+ years fishing. It is hard to get a bad reel for under $79 these days (thank God) and once you become decent at using them you will likely buy a few good ones.

I don't mean to discourage you by any means but getting good equipment puts you way ahead on the learning curve. Or you can do as I did and waste 10,000 yards of Mono trying to make inferior equipment work for you.

Best of luck with the Rhino.

This is an ok beginners reel but in time you will find a more expensive reel easier to use! Please read other post thank you!
P.S. I would say wrong to buying a more costly reel unless they can use on well! It wont be to much money to loose if u have to sell it,lol!I will agree to your statement in a way if u think and know for sure that u are going to become an avid baitcaster fisherman yes spend the bucks! I have bought 6 good high dollar reels from yard sales because ppl said "I cant use these darn reels!
