I am interested in changing careers so that I can spend my days in the open sea, possibly as a fisherman. What do I need to know and where do I start looking?

Could it still die even if I see it swim away?
Can it be caught again another day?
Will it return to where it was located before it was caught?

These questions refer to freshwater fishing.

I need to know how to fish for Saltwater Striped bass. My dad and I fish for Skipjacks. We like it because we catch one fish after the other. Right. So my dad caught a striper. Out of the blue going for skipjacks and we ate it. It was so delicious. I want to go for striper. We go at a good spot where hardly any body knows. Very few go along the rocks and get striper and they catch them. I want to learn how to catch them. Should i attach a live skipjack to a big hook and just cast it out? There a technique in reeling the pole in?

OK, it's a hot summer day, you're offshore fishing, and catch a 500 pound blue fin, or something similar. How do you keep it fresh till you're done fishing and get back to port? That thing ain't goin' in the ice chest!!

Every time I go fishing I end up dropping my reel in the salt water somehow, and rendering it useless. Does anyone else that is familiar with inshore fishing know of a good light reel I can buy for around $100 that will last me more than a couple trips? Do I really need to spend $300 or more to get a good quality reel? I sure hope not.

Ok, I just bought some bass Assassin worms, and I'm not exactly sure if this is meant to be a top water lure or dip down in the water. HELP ME! :]

Was talking with someone the other day and this was mentioned. I seem to remember catching a few decent black drum on live shrimp once upon a time, and not that I'm in complete disagreement with the person who told me this, but it does kinda strike me as odd. Anyway, just seeing if it's common knowledge and I'm just out of the loop.

My family thought it would be fun to go crab fishing during the summer. Does anyone know where to go? We live in Southern California. My parents are mostly wanting to go to reservoirs that have crabs of course. But beaches would be great too. We're planning on using chicken as bait. This will the first time we'll go fishing for crabs. Any advice would also be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

I have a fishing kayak and I fish freshwater. I keep the fish I catch on a stringer, but it doesn't keep them alive as well as I'd like. Does anyone have a better way of keeping their fish alive and swimming?

I am not sure how to get the picture of this fish onto this question so that it can be viewed...I can't think of any natural predators that could whup this thing...It looks like it could chew/rip/devour its' way out from any kind of bigger fish..It looks about two feet long and might weigh about 25-35 pounds. Good grief ... whatta set of choppers. I will E-Mail this thing to anyone, I would really like to know if it is a hoax or what..
