assuming you have all the right gear and bait.

the best time to fish is hours before an actual rain. the fish are restless and are not careful of predators.

another time is mating season where the fish are again restless.

they will eat any bait.

this is the reason why there is a big catch before a storm

just be finished before the rain comes.

just be careful

yep- just go out and do it. we all gotta start somewhere, and the only way to get better at it is to do it. i've picked up more valuable advice just from talking with fellow fishermen out in the field than from asking questions on yahoo.
