The only place that this has ever happened to me was in TX and La. while fishing for reds in brackish water. The water becomes to fresh and we would either wait a few days or try fishing a little further out where more saltwater is located. Other then that I have always caught good fish after a rain storm.

The rain washed allot of food into the water, your waiting too long after the rain to fish and they are already full.
