I really like the Texas gulf coast. Some good spots are the Port Aransas- Rockport area, and Baffin Bay. Both are great for redfish, speckled trout, black drum, and a few tarpon in the bays, and good for spanish macks, kingfish, dolphin (not the mammals, the dolphin fish), and red snapper off shore. There are alot of very knowledgable guides for hire, some with small boats (4 or 5 people) and some of the party fishing boats that go offshore (up to 100 people). Good luck, hope you catch alot.

I would have to say that there are to many good fishing areas for me to mention in this space. I have been a fishing guide for 3 years now in Northwest BC. I average at least 3 trips a week. Catching anything from 5 species of salmon, to halibut and ling cod. But before I moved up here I fished the Gulf of Mexico from Corpus Christi TX, all the way up through Florida. I fished the coastlines of Louisiana extensively since my folks are from there. I have also been fortunate enough to fish throughout the Caribbean and Leeward Islands. Then finally the Southwest coast near Rocky Point. I cannot pick a favorite because we always caught fish and even a few trophies wherever we might be. If you know the species of fish you want to go for, at least that might give you a region to look at. Second, see what the charter offers as incentives to use their company. If my customers don't catch fish than I don't get paid, that's my incentive.

One of the biggest fishing hubs in the northeast for charter boats is Montauk, Long Island. About a dozen marinas and close to a hundred fishing charter boats. As far as other areas, Glouchester, Massachusetts, Port Judith, Rhode Island, Oqunquit, Maine, and Cape Hateria North Carolina are the best fishing hubs.

That is a broad question. The best offshore/deep sea fishing I've ever experienced was Cancun Mexico in June. In one 8 hour charter we hooked 13 sailfish, one good sized marlin (approx 200 #) a few bonito. I understand that the sailfishing and marlin fishing in Costa Rica is probably the best you will find. Some of the best Bass fishing I have done is in central Florida, St. Johns River/Lake George,Lake Okeechobee and the Everglades. Although southern Texas is known for awesome bass fishing. I haven't fished there. Yet.
I fish almost every week on Lake Erie(during the season). It is a great fish producing lake. Particularly for Walleye, Smallmouth and Yellow Perch.

I agree with coolhand, Im a fishing guide in the Port Aransas/Rockport/Corpus Christi, TX area.
The bays around here have some great fishing. Baffin Bay is great for some big trout. Redfish bay is pretty good if you know your way around in it since they put up new laws about the sea grass being dug up by boats.
Then the offshore fishing is also pretty good to, with plenty of party boat charter companies around.
