Hey. I'm currently in 8th grade and am planning on trying out for cheerleading next year in highschool. I dont know too much gymnastics, I can do a cartwheel and a handstand but thats pretty much it. I take dance if that helps. And I'm pretty good at it too (at least I think so, lol.) I've been to plenty of the highschool games to know some of the cheers. Also, when I watch them it doesnt seem as if they are lifting up people or doing any tumbling. So I'm thinking that our team isn't that hard to make? Or does it just seem that way because of the little that it seems like they do? Anyways I just wanted to know from current or past cheerleaders. What are the basic things I need to know for tryouts and such. Please help! Thank you soo much!!!

I am asking on all levels/attributes though. For example a marathon runner would certainly be the best for endurance but wouldn't need to have any upper body strength. thoughts? opinions?

In sports, character, value, physical and mental strength are all challenged in a short span of time. Sports can tell us a lot about ourselves as individuals and as a society. Yet, apart from a fanatic obsession with Cricket, we have very little to show for our passion in sports. While there is certainly better infrastructure available today, sport is not a popular part of Indian culture. Instead of joining sports teams or athletic games, many children are spending countless hours in front of TV screens and video games.
Since its Independence, India has won only 4 individual Olympic medals (K.D. Jhadav for Wrestling, K. Malleshwari for weightlifting, R. Rathore for shooting and yours truly for tennis). We won a hockey gold way back in 1980! Currently we are ranked a lowly 157 in world football. Our excellence in swimming is limited to the SAF Games.
Is something missing in our strength as a nation? How do we address this issue?

Seriously, it looks like it would be harder to put a body part through that flap which has layers of fabric to keep it in than just pull it out over the waistband? I asked my boyfriend and he said, "I don't know, I don't look at other guys peeing"

My boss thinks it was on purpose and I was told I would not get a raise for the next 3 or 4 years. Should I quit or just work harder to change his mind about my raise? I think he found the beaker online and the cost is $9,000. Am I in deep trouble? What would you do? Has this ever happened to you?

I just got a bowling ball and need it drilled. I also will likely need it marked with my name somehow as my friend has the same ball with the same weight. Can someone please tell me the cost of each element, the drilling and the identifying inscription?

I really tried to get into the sport but I just couldn't. Its too repetitive and it's pretty uninteresting. I tried to watch a race once but all it made me do was fall asleep. The only time I like NASCAR is when a major wreck occurs. Other thann that theres not much to it but a bunch of guys in fast cars going around in circles.
