I've coached a few different sports and I find that the ones who stand out above the rest are simply the ones who give it their all. They need not sell themselves with talk or appearance, but rather go out there and prove to the coach that they will be an asset in more ways that one. Prove that you are coachable and make it a point to take whatever they say to heart. Showing that you're a team player never hurts (help others out whenever possible). Never back talk a coach! Your skill level will greatly determine if you make the team but if it comes down to you and a few others, character will dawn you a jersey.

well I dont know what sport you are trying out for, but in general I would say it would be effort and hustle, how motivated are you, how bad do you want to be on the team. If you show the coaches that it will make a big impression.

What are you trying out for? Give 110 % and if its a team, show them you can be apart of the team (get along - team player) and that you can be dependable. Show respect toward fellow teammates and coaches. Follow instruction carefully. Ask if you are not sure, better to ask & understand than to mess up and look like you didn't pay attention. Attitude that you are willing but don't be arrogant. Smile like you are enjoying it what ever it is you are trying out for.

Well, without mentioning which sport you're trying out for, I'd follow the universal guidelines of hustle and a positive attitude.

just show them that you are willing to try your best, if they give you advice apply it it will show them you are willing to improve. stay consistant make sure they think of something good you did when your name is mentioned. other than that let your natural talent take you through. and if they want you to try a different position give it a shot if you are any good it makes you more valuable to the team and harder to cut.
