use your body weight to make your punches stronger. don't just use your arms.

FOOTWORK MY MAN.mOMENTUM OF THE BODY INTO THE PUNCH.hOWEVER a trained opponent will see the "telegraph" of your intentions and will react accordingly.
Take some classic boxing lessons and you will see what I mean
Timing is very important as well.Cooordinating the blow with the forward movement of the opponent into the strike.
Many have a glass jaw. What this means is that if you hit someone square on the button they will go down after a slight delay like a ton of bricks. The button is square on the chin which applies pressure on the brain which induces unconsciousness.Watch some of the classic fights and you will see this.
Be careful about committing the body totally behind your strike.Because you are committed and may be very vulnerable if you miss and your opponent can capitalize.Again you will see this in many pro fights where the man is committed and a good uppercut sends him reeling in disarray

from my martial arts training and me being a quite small guy and not strong at all i have a hit that will knock people out with no problem becouse of some things i worked on besides hiting the weights...two things i will say is too work on you wrist and hand and to get them strong more so then your arms back ect..If you have a strong wrist and hand you will no doubt be able to drop people...Do wrist exercises and to strengthen your hand up i used to hit a steal metal plate i had screwed to my wall 100 times a day with both hands starting off soft and moving my way up to hitting it as hard as i can to build my hands up sure my knuckles are boney as hell now and stand out some but thats all the better when hitting a person and you learn how to tighten your fist up this way too...The other way is like someone else stated here when you see the person and your about to strike dont picture him at the distance he is infront of you picture that he is a few steps back and that will help with the power of your punch...Hope this helps some...

There is no muscle that is important to get a better and stronget punch. If you yell as you punch, you will get more force behind the punch then throwing a punch without yelling. You will also get more technicques behind the punch because as you are yelling you will be focuse on the spot you are punching at. That is why you yell because it gets more power and it helps you focus more on the spot were you want to punch

Shoulder muscles are very important in punching, more so than bicepts (the muscle people usually over value).

As far as technique, move your entire shoulder and that side of your chest back then forward, not just a quick sucker punch.

Harder punch has nothing to do with muscle. Stance and hip movement is best. Never punch with a fully extended arm. You could do damage to yourself. Always, work from the hip. I don't encourage violence, if you are using this for self defense, then I suggest getting the hips involved, in your swing.

Use the Knee, hips, shoulders, elbows to form power. The power of the punch will rely greatly when using cirular motions. Watch Kung-fu/Karate Movies. Try to use your power when you counter-attack.

It is NOT your arms, it is your shoulders and back and lats!
Throw a punch and follow it with your body!

Pretend you're punching a foot past your target.

It's all in the delivery...you have to master leverage...using your body mass.
