Of course not! Long before Chris came out the baseline game was the norm for most female tennis players. In the few years preceding C. E. (10 or so) some women started playing serve & volley. When Chris came out her game was not and never was boring.

Percentage wise, more of the women players play a baseline game now than did before and during Chris's hay day. This is due to the technical advances in the raquet itself;specifically, being made out of grafite rather than wood.

You can not tell how hard the tennis players hit the ball on the TV set - they are really wailing on the balls.

There is a reason why Chris cound beat all but the best serve and volley players during her time.
