I am 37 years old,I have a 43 year old brother that has always been a bully;little shot guy with midget syndrome,ex boxer;I fought him once about 14 years ago, boxed with him 2 years ago,i got a concussion and he a bloody nose,it showed me i needed more skills so i took some Tang Su Do classes and he studied some Ju Jitsu,we have even had somewhat of a firearms race as i threatend to shoot him if he broke in my door and that I want nothing to do with him,he goes over seas then comes home homeless with money threatening to vandalize property, trying to threaten me every couple of years then leaves and does it again, slling my home is not an option .... I really think he will come over with an AK-47 or 9mm rifle this month .. I have a 30.06 and a few handguns incase ... but seriously do not wish to have any contact and told him if he comes over i will have him cited for tresspass ..... I have no proof of his violence ... what would you suggest

And since I just spotted another one of these bruce lee vs questions in my favorite category I wanted to ask you to get creative with this. So who would you set Chuck Norris against in an epic battle to the death. Who would win and in what way. Most hilarious answer gets 10 points

Are you into martial arts because you like to fight, are competitive or enjoy tournaments, or bouts?
Is it fitness and health that motivates you?
Is it spiritual?
Do you want to be able to defend yourself and others?
Is it because you like to be a showman and entertain others?
Perhaps you're artistic and enjoy perfecting the techniques of your chosen style?
Or is it a way for you to maintain self-discipline and a sense of control and personal strength, achievement or self worth in your life?

I'm genuinely interested and would value your honesty. Thanks.

It is true that it is a different style itself?

Reason I ask is Chuck Norris learned Tang Soo Do in the army way before Bruce Lee taught him Jeet Kune Do. This means Bruce did not teach Chuck Norris everything he knows.

So am I right?

After serveral years of boxing, a couple years of Kuk Sool Won, and minimal McDojo Karate training I have desided to look for a traditional kwoon that teaches the art and not the sport. A school that focuses on developement more than belt ranking. That goes over philosphy, history, and a full comprehension of the art. I am not into MMA or combat sports, though I have respect for those involved.
But anyway, anyone know how to find a traditional school, or better yet any idea about a school in San Antonio Texas or surrounding areas? It has been an ordeal finding a school. Anyway, any advice would be great. Thanks

I was thinking of studying Chin Na. I hear it has good "street wise" grappling techniques, but am I better off with BJJ? I want to learn the best grappling art for a STREET FIGHT not a ring fight.

The rest of the school is below that. Is it good to have black belts that are little kids or wait until they are older?

That way the martial arts forum won't have to be overrun by immature kids day dreaming about their video game triumphs and trying to make themselves feel tough by posting a lot of rot and swill.

taekwondo - i really dont see how kicking someone will win you a fight never mind an experienced fighter but even against a bumb on the street. but if you can elaborate please tell me how it is effective. same goes for kenpo karate, kung fu and boxing.
for me i belive if you fight more than two attackers you wont possibly win. this is why i think brazilian jujitsu will serve as self defense as will judo, sambo, amateur wrestling and a few other styles but they are not practiced often. more often than not its the least effective arts that are taught that you cannot you in a defensive situation.
why is this?

I'm just curious if others shared a similar observation concerning answers given on the MA section. It seems that there are some philosophical differences that tend to have become degrading toward other people's style and schools. Although many people take martial arts for differing reasons, and certainly, there are good and bad schools out there, it seems that many online wish to bash other's MA training. Isn't the whole point of martial training for the betterment of self, or have we allowed ourselves to degenerate into common thugs? If so, what is the cause of this?
