I'm pretty sure it's illegal to buy them but can they be used in Dojo's? I've always been fascinated by this simple but brutal weapon, supposed they're easy enough to make yourself but are they legal in the UK?

What other weapons can be used in karate other than Sai?

I never understand how there could be so many people out there who really believe they're a great fighter if they have never spar. How do they think they could even really fight if they have never tried to hit a moving opponent who will block, counter, or evade.

Like as with every thing else, martial arts need to be practice to be effective. You cannot simply play a racing video game then go and get in a real car and drive without crashing. Same apply to martial arts, if you never spar then there's no way you can do well in fight.

Why not use other striking styles (eg Karate, Tae Kwon Do). I know some schools are ineffective but some others are great for full contact (eg. Kyokushin).

Also, why are there so few Judo grapplers in MMA?

I've been doing Wing Chun Kung Fu for over a year. My wife and I had our first baby a couple months ago, and ever since then I've been exhausted all the time. Before the baby was born, I was practicing every day for at least 30 minutes. But now I'm just so tired that I collapse on the couch every day after work. I've tried taking energy Ginsing, Green Tea, etc to get more energy, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Any ideas?

I live in Tigard, OR 97224. I tried at Things to Remember in downtown Portland, and some sewing places in Beaverton, but none of those could do it, they say Taekwondo belt is too thick for their sewing machine. So please show me some where near here that can embroider texts on a martial art belt.

i was wondering is it possible to increase a person reflexes, any exercises would be helpful.
and in the movie matrix, and v is for vendetta it showed what is possible with quick reflexes. i know those are movies, but do u think it is possible for a person to be able to do something like that? i mean bruce lee used to do some pretty crazy things what do u think?

In Kill Bill: The Bride used a samurai sword.
In Zoro: Zoro used a rapier sword.
In Die Another Day: Bond used a naval saber.
Which would be the best in a fight against another type of sword (assuming that both oppenents are equally skilled)? Rapiers are fast but would a saber be slower but able to break a rapier? Samurai swords lack a hand guards and so are they less good at blocking an opponents blade? I am also wondering if there are any new technologies eg ceramic which would make a more effective sword?
NB I am assuming that the skills of all opponents are equal!

It is all too convient that many traditional martial artists CLAIM to have powerful strikes and techniques however they are TOO EFFECTIVE to prove. Either that or they are against fighting (how and why are they training people to fight) so they can't ethically subtantiate their claims.

Ok well I've been doing a japanese form of Martial Arts called Kobudo Kai for about seven years now and I still love and enjoy it. I just have a couple of questions and I hope you can help me.

For those of you in Melbourne, Australia, are there any like short, one day things where you can attend, try out and learn about a different style of martial art?
What are some ways I can increase my strength, power, accuracy and speed?

And finally i'd love to have a chat and meet with anyone(possibly around my age...i turn 16 this year so between 14 to 18 years or close) who does any form of martial arts and lives in the Melbourne area (Western suburbs would be great!) or if you live interstate or oveseas we could still chat online. If your interested please leave an answer with your details(age, style of martial arts, location and email address) and i promose i will get back to you as soon as i can!
Thanks!
