My friends and I from our dogang are going as the bad guys from cobra kai in the Karate Kid movie. We want the black gi with the yellow trim. We are going to use iron on patches for the ones from the movie but I am having a hard time finding the Gi's. I know they were Century, from the movie, but do you know of any sites that would have them? Any ideas on cheap alternatives would be great.

OK, UFC has been in the states for like almost 13 years and has gone through 2 ownerships. Pride FC is in the mainstream in Japan and has been around for only 9 years. The UFC wants to replicate that kind of revenue success stateside that Pride has. Pride this month on the 21st is going to have it's first ever American debut in Las Vegas at a venue where a lot of UFC fights have taken place over the years. My question, do you think UFC will now do a show in Japan and get into a territory war with Pride for fanbase or not? OK people, let'em rip!

This is easily the best fight card that american soil has seen in quite sometime...Fedor vs coleman, Rua vs Randleman, Belfort vs Henderson, and you got Mark Hunt in the mix as well. It seems like UFC only has a few stars, and with them trying to hold a PPV event every month, you get one star on the card, (ufc 64 will have franklin and no other noteable) and the rest are no name american fighters. What do you all think??

Okay, so I was looking at a school recently (they do Kung Fu) and I asked them if they did Ultimate Fighting. They guy who was there said they taught stuff that would work in the street but wasn't designed for competition.

How can you teach something that only works half the time? I mean an air filter is an air filter regardless of where it is being used. Right?

Thanks.

The legendary Royce Gracie will always be on my list, although the still unbeaten Brandon "The Truth" Vera holds a special place in my heart because of his Filipino heritage.

I was practising in mixed martial arts untill recently.. I had been training for 2 years but moving house has made me also have to change martial arts schools.. But there is not a mixed martial arts school near me, only ones I can find are the three mentioned above, if anyone can shed some light between the differences in these arts that can help me with my decision making, it would be much appreciated..

Does anyone out there do Aikido? I've been doing it (takemusu style) for about 6 months and I'm finding progress painfully, almost catatonically slow. I'd like to be enlightened by the learnig or experience of someone (preferably a Dan) who has made it.

I pulled it a week ago during whilst warming up for a jitsu class. Its better than it was but I can still feel it tight as I walk up the stairs and by the end of the day the bck of my knee and also the top of my calf aches - presumably due to compensating for the weak hamstring whilst walking.

And could anyone recommend anything to help it to heal?

I need a non-complex definition of what "poomsae" means, because I can't seem to be able to translate it into simpler terms for my 9 year old brother to understand, he needs to know what it means to write his black belt promotion test.

I'm thinking of taking a martial arts class (jujitsu, if you're interested) and I wondered how everyone would act towards me, to be fair, I'm not a big guy, I have a small frame and I'm not the stereotype person you'd see taking martial arts, would they ignore me, or tease me (sorry to sound so childish, it was for lack of a better word) because I was the new kid, or because of my size?

Is it just me or does it seem like there is a high number of people who think that because they have a little bit of training in a martial art than they can take on anybody or they are all knowing on the subject. And they ussually lie about the amount of training they actually have.
It's like those people who have never played a sport like hockey or fought in an event like UFC but think they can kick everyones *** they see on TV.
DOES ANYONE ELSE HATE THOS PEOPLE?
