The legendary Royce Gracie will always be on my list, although the still unbeaten Brandon "The Truth" Vera holds a special place in my heart because of his Filipino heritage.

Matt Hughes has definitely proven himself. He has a lot of heart and is always improving. He seems to be very professional and has a good attitude unlike other certain MMA's who end up being bad role models for easily influential people. I know there's usually a bad side to all people, but I haven't seen it with Matt Hughes. He's pretty dominant right now.

My favourate is definatly George St. Pierre. Pure talent.
No one has yet. To really beat him his record is 13 and 1. His only loss came from Hughs and up until he made a mistake at the end of the round he was decidedly winning the round.

YA Royce holds a certain position I think with everyone. He's like the Hogan of MMA.

But for pure heart and determination and all around skill and fight record I Hughs as the second best. Although a guy like Jeremy Horn with over 100 fights and over 80 wins well....

Well, I am biased but I would have to say myself. Ha ha. I know you are talking about a much higher stage. I like Andrei Arlovski because of his punching power, Frank Mir for his technique and, as you said, Royce Gracie because he is the father of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Fedor Emelianenko. The current Heavyweight champion in Pride. He has defeated all comers. The whole Gracie family would be a cakewalk. No one in the UFC could even come close. Look him up. My second would be Crocop (also with Pride). Has the most dangerous kicks in MMA.

I know it's not the most popular answer but I have to say Tito Ortiz.
I believe Tito will be the champion again.
