Years from now how would Zidane's Career be remembered. Will people remember for the great soccer player that he was or the headbutt.

I think that sets a bad example for future generations, that you could do something that violent, taking away the beauty of the game, but still get awarded for that. Remember this game is watch by Billions of people.
He is an amazing soccer player, but what he did is not acceptable, and now FIFA awarded him? because he is retiring, that is not an excuse, It is really dissapointing to see this kind of thing happening.
I love Soccer, and do not let future generations follow this steps.

I mean, I barely know anybody who plays soccer. When I was in High school, the only people who cared were the soccer players themselves! Who were rejects in other sports. haha

But seriously, I know other people around the world are very serious, but Americans?

Don't you think they were issuing too many red/yellow cards this World Cup? I remember reading that highest number of cards were issued this w.c. than any other w.c.
Let's put aside Zidane's head-butt for this question. It's over and we can't do anything about it.

I typically do not wear underwear with jeans and shorts. I love American Eagle and Abercrombie jeans and cargo shorts. The same goes with soccer shorts from Adidas, Puma, etc. They are all comfortable. It seems like there is a trend now with people in their teens, 20s, and 30s in that they are getting rid of the undies. I can tell at school and at the gym. Maybe Abercrombie and Fitch is getting the hint. Their website shows guys and girls wearing low rise jeans....... and there are NO underwear bands with Abercrombie and Fitch showing.. as they use to do in the past. Let's face it, their clothes are comfortable to wear without.

Also, I think clothes are getting comfortable enough that underwear is not really needed anymore. Also, if you make sure you have good personal hygeine, you do not really need it. Underwear is for the days when clothes were not comfortable.

Do you believe this is true??????

he Paris-based anti-racism advocacy group SOS-Racism issued a statement Monday quoting "several very well informed sources from the world of football" as saying Materazzi called Zidane a "dirty terrorist." It demanded that FIFA, soccer's world governing body, investigate and take any appropriate action.

FIFA, which reviews all red cards at the World Cup, would not comment on thespecifics.

Comment: Materazzi called Zidane a "dirty terrorist."

I think south america has better teams, Look at Argentina&Brazil which is the only good ones, But they can still take on European teams if they focus. So who do you think can play soccer better? South america? or European?

I want to know if French fans saw a different game in which what Zidane did made sense? Clearly the other billion people watching the game saw Zidane assault someone...what did they see?

Also, I want to know where French fans were when Israel, Ireland, and Switzerland were all ahead of them in qualifying? Where were they when three retirees had to come back just to help a lucky, old, decrepid team make the World Cup? They were quiet then I guess. Do French fans not want to talk about that? Would they instead like to rip apart Italy, a team that has not lost a game in 2 years?

Clearly the answer if no because if he is their best PK shooter he would have gone last. And, becuase Italy was amazing in the PK's France didn't even get a final kick. So, hence Zidane would not have even taken a PK. Anyone else agree? (I can't wait to see what you ridiculous french fans say.)

The French are claiming that Zidane was called a racial slur. Do you think this is true or just a ploy by the French team to get people to forgive them for their brutal player? Zidane looks pretty caucasian to me. Is he just trying to rally sympathy?
