Don't you think they were issuing too many red/yellow cards this World Cup? I remember reading that highest number of cards were issued this w.c. than any other w.c.
Let's put aside Zidane's head-butt for this question. It's over and we can't do anything about it.

Thanks for putting the Zizou incident out of the question for your question. I'm sure someone will bring it up, though.

I think they were issuing many cards, esp round 1 - I would say even "card-happy" -

but to give the benefit of the doubt to refs and players, the rules were modified before the wc so I think many players were not used to playing that way. The freq of cards did go down after 2nd round. Also, i think some refs were taken the rules down to the letter while others used better judgement.

Yes, that is true. I have been watching the FIFA World Cups 2006 also. The refferees were isuing the yellow/red cards to one team alot because they liked the other team better. It isn't fair but the refferees still do that.

Do you care about Red/Yellow cards in this world cup?

Or you just want many people to answer your question?

I hope that in 2010 they change that. There were way troo many cards issued this time around. I also think that some refs were getting some extra $$$$$ for that though.

in the beginning they had way too many, but they finally got a clue and started reffing right. but it was just too late, some teams mightve gone a lot farther if those cards hadnt been a problem.
