I want to know if French fans saw a different game in which what Zidane did made sense? Clearly the other billion people watching the game saw Zidane assault someone...what did they see?
Also, I want to know where French fans were when Israel, Ireland, and Switzerland were all ahead of them in qualifying? Where were they when three retirees had to come back just to help a lucky, old, decrepid team make the World Cup? They were quiet then I guess. Do French fans not want to talk about that? Would they instead like to rip apart Italy, a team that has not lost a game in 2 years?

I have no answer to your question. I'd like just to add some more to it.
Where were them when France could not beat Switzerland or South Korea? Where were them when France barely beat Togo?
Do they forget that the gentleman Zizou had already lost his temper in the first game of 1998 WC? Do they forget that he got 2 games of suspension for that? Can't they notice that this gentleman only played two decent games in World Cups, coincidently both against Brazil?
Where were them when France could not score a single goal in WC 2002?

Yes we all saw Zizou "assault" Materazzi physically. But no one heard what was said to antagonize the assault. I bet if I called your mother a whore you'd headbutt me too. Besides the fact that the French team were actually taking their hits like men where as the Italians were not. They rolled on the ground like babies the entire World Cup Tournament. Also speaking of "assualt" what about when De Rossi (from Italy) elbowed USA team member Mcbride in the face? Made the poor guy gush blood on the field not to mention he needed STITCHES to close the wound. That's okay? Yeah I think not. Stop trying to hate on the French. They played well. They didn't win, but they didn't need to. Making it to the finals was winning enough.

When you are a fan of a team, you continue to support it even in difficult times.
Anyway the French team finishes second of the World Cup 2006. What is the rank of the USA team ???

First of all.. only talk about what you know!
Second, if the italian guy would not have insulted Zidane's familly, zidane wouldnot have hit the guy!
Third, if the french team reached the final, it means that they deserved it!
