Some sources say he called him a dirty terrorists, others a n*gger, while other say he called his mother and sister prostitutes, and still others suggest Materazzi said something about Zidane's wife. It's all speculation right now though if you look around the net many fans seem to like to blame Materazzi.

this might help. i read this somewhere
Materazzi spoke in Italian - a language understood by Zidane due to his time spent with Juventus F.C. - and first told him: "Hold on, wait, that one's not for a ****** like you." As the players walked forward, Materazzi allegedly said: "We all know you are the son of a terrorist whore." Then, just before the headbutt, he was seen saying: "So just **** off." [8] [9] According to Brazilian TV Rede Globo, a lip-reader claimed that Materazzi twice called Zidane's sister a prostitute.

have no idea....Zidane will be revealing what Materazzi really said in a few days but if ever the racism report is true, Materazzi deserved that headbutt, probably even more.

OK, here is the answer. The BBC got an Italian lip reader to check out what was said to Zidane.
M: Grabs Zidane's nipple.
Zidane says something.
M: No. Calm down, liar. I wish an ugly death to you and all your family. [Z's mother was seriously ill]
M: Go f u c k yourself.
Z turns round and knocks M to the ground. With his head.

i think he was just frustrated that he couldnt score with an open header just minutes before that incident..so he headed the chest of materazzi..maybe by doing so he'd get the same feeling like he's scored..lol...

the pressure to do well. there are racists everywhere, I'm sure zizou knows it, he didn't have to give the Italians satisfaction, especially not like that, not during the most important part of the world cup. He knows who he is, he knows he's not a terrorist, he should've blown it off.
